Shared editor presentation and development tooling

UI Foundry provides consistent editor presentation alongside tooling for building, packaging, and checking a source checkout.

Three themes are available:

  • Editor Native
  • UI Foundry Dark
  • High Contrast

Live color overrides allow presentation adjustments, and a shared verbose-help preference controls the level of guidance across participating tools.

The Color and Slate Inspectors expose sampled colors, widget paths, geometry, and state. These inspectors are experimental, and their current screen-sampling implementation is Windows-specific.

Use the inspector output as context when investigating a widget’s appearance or editor state, with that platform boundary in mind.

Development tooling covers engine selection, incremental builds, packaging, package inspection, selected-engine installation, and automated repository checks.

Choose the intended Unreal Engine installation before building or packaging, inspect the resulting package, and validate the workflow with the repository’s checks. A successful incremental build and a validated distributable package answer different questions.

The tooling described here supports source development; compatibility should be checked against the plugin version and engine build being installed.

Layout Presets manages compatible asset editor panel arrangements. Getting Started introduces installation and the first workflow to verify.

Additional editor controls, including panel collapse and Local Only Perforce changelists, remain on the in-development page.
