Asset editor layout presets

Layout Presets saves, restores, and shares panel arrangements for supported asset editors. Presets account for asset type, editor family, and workflow mode so an arrangement can be applied in a compatible context.

The manager supports naming, ordering, previews, import/export, and defaults. Give each preset a name that describes the work it supports, such as animation review or material authoring, and use its preview to recognize the arrangement.

A layout can be applied across compatible open editors and set as the default for future instances.

Layout handling includes undo, missing-panel recovery, display/DPI correction, and protection against conflicting library writes. These mechanisms help when a saved layout meets a different display arrangement, unavailable panel, or shared library change.

Compatibility still matters: presets account for editor context rather than assuming every asset editor has the same tabs.

  1. Arrange the panels for one supported asset editor and workflow.
  2. Save and name the preset in the manager.
  3. Review its preview and order it in the library.
  4. Apply it to compatible open editors or set it as their future default.
  5. Export or import presets when sharing arrangements with teammates.

Shared editor presentation covers themes and color overrides. Double-click panel collapse and restoration is an addition still being implemented and validated.
